Kevin Carr

Kevin has been traveling to Quebec since 1980 to learn from and play with traditional musicians there. He’s recorded with Yvan Mimeault, on his album, Il y Etait Temps, and two albums by Les Tetes de Violon headed by Guy Bouchard; he has also learned from many other Quebecois fiddlers. In addition, Kevin made six trips to Galicia, to learn music from that lovely region, which he loves very much. Lark’s dear friend Cano (Alexandre Cadarso), has been Kevin’s principal mentor.

Kevin had taught for 40 years at the Festival of American Fiddle tunes, Lark Camp, and numerous other festivals across the country. He has played hundreds of dances with the Hillbillies from Mars, from Alaska to Florida. He currently plays with Wake the Dead, Ospa (Basque music), Orujo (13th century cantigas and modern Galician tunes), and with his family as the Family Carr.
