David M. Brown earned his Master’s in Music in New Orleans. He has studied many styles of music over his career, and has taught a variety of classes at Lark Camp since 1991. He began playing Greek bouzouki in the late 1970’s, and studied Persian tar with professional Shirazi, Faraj Purlian, and Arabic music with Ahmad al-Shaar. He was the original music director for HabiRu and was a part of the revival of Bal-anat.
