Play the Blues on Mandolin

In this workshop, we’ll dig into playing the blues on mandolin. Mandolin has always been a part of the blues, from the Jug Bands of the 20’s right up to today! We will learn some seminal licks played by greats like Yank Rachell, Howie “Louie Bluie” Armstrong and Johnny Young, but we will also focus on improvising, playing behind singers and fitting in to a blues jam on a mandolin.  You should be able to change chords smoothly in a few different keys in order to participate in this supportive and entertaining class.
