Arabic Songs for Voice

Arabic vocal repertoire spans many colors, rich dialects and vast geographies. We invite you to journey through a selection of diverse Arabic songs (popular, folk, lullaby, classical), giving singers ornamental nuances and vocal approaches expressed through each style. Each day we will cover a set of new songs, with the possibility of visiting previously-learned ones as well. Singers of all levels are welcome. Transliterated Arabic lyrics, along with translation will be provided. We will cover basic sounds in Arabic, so no prior knowledge of the language is required. Please note that this class is taught through ear training/active listening.
