Balkan Dance

In this class we cover many of the exciting Balkan rhythms and the dances that go with them. We’ll learn village-type versions (non-choreographed) of Pravo, Lesnoto, Cocek, Eleno Mome, Buenec, Paidusko, Daichovo, Rachenitsa, Kopanitsa, Tropanka, Triti Puti, as well as other dances with even stranger rhythms like Sandansko Horo and Sedi Donka, plus some dances specific to certain areas like Pomasko Sirto and Dospatsko Horo. The dances are done in lines – no partner necessary! No dance experience necessary, either – these dances are adaptable to whatever level of energy and physicality you have available to you.
