Preston has been playing traditional Irish music on the uilleann pipes for over 20 years and has been teaching for 10 years. He first received tutelage on the instrument with Con Durham of Dingle, Ireland, and has performed with such musicians as Liz Knowles, Mick O’Brien, Kevin Burke, and many others. His focus has been on the playing styles and traditions of pre-famine Irish piping (1780’s-1840’s). Preston also has a decade’s experience as a reed maker.
