Aharon Wheels Bolsta has studied tabla and ragas (vocal and santur) with masters Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan since the mid-90’s. He also studied Bansuri with Ashok Lal (Mehta) and Steve Gorn. Aharon has integrated his north and south Indian rhythm theory (for tabla and drums), and Middle Eastern percussion with many styles and genres of artists. He has recorded and performed extensively.
Aharon began learning to play drums in 6th grade. He has taught tabla, bansuri, and raga vocals to dozens of students, in addition to teaching workshops internationally that integrate classical Indian rhythm techniques and theory with body percussion as well as many Western and Eastern instruments.” He is at camp with his family including two very young children, who already show great interest in drumming, music, dance and theater!
